Japan's oldest Chinatown is clean and organised and many chinese restaurants lined the streets

Lots of nice bars and restaurants

Nagasaki chinatown is a must visit during Chinese New Year. The whole area is paraded with beautiful lanterns. If you are visiting on a regular day, thereΓ’β¬β’s not really that much going around, some few shops here and some Chinese cuisine there. I really recommend visiting on Chinese New Year! It was amazing

Loved it. Very compact like a lot of Nagasaki, but so many shops and restaurants!
Wendy Tanaka
Lively, fun and safe. Well-organized and handicapped accessible!

It's alright, a bit touristy. I much prefered the old Chinatown.
Kristal Diana
This Chinatown is more elaborate than the ones in China even!

There are a lot of good restaurants in here.

nice food!

Food was amazing, music, crowds, good atmosphere.

Touristy yet charming. It has a different feel than the rest of the town and gives another insight of the complex history of Nagasaki. Definitely worth having a look in those pedestrian streets. Many opportunities to buy souvenirs and eat Chinese food.

Good spot to eat authentic Chinese food in Japan if you ever get tired of Japanese food.

Much smaller than Kobe and Yokohama Chinatowns. Expensive food

Very authentic Chinatown mainly tourist shops and restaurants. There are some traditional shops selling traditional Chinese food & snacks that are long forgotten in other Chinese communities. Make sure you try the gyoza champon noodles and steam meat buns. Perhaps a suggestion is to visit at night or in the evening as there should be some light displays.

A pretty small Chinatown though there are traces of "chinese" influence on the structures, designs and food in the restaurant.

One of tourists attractions in Nagasaki. You can feel different ambiance in this place. Feel like in China, even you are in Japan.

The hustle and bustle of a Chinatown and it's all part of the experience. If you have a keen ear, when walking down Shinchimachi, you'll notice that the lyrical Japanese of spoken conversations, change to the more confrontational Mandarin or Cantonese. Also that Japanese politeness gets toned down a few notches. The food on offering definitely changes to that of the Chinese cuisine, as expected.

It is a nice place, but I feel food it is little bit expensive that it should be.

Chinatown Nagasaki, Nice place to take a walk and check out. Still I find te price of restaurants quiet expensive, in other areas of Nagasaki they have the same plates at a much lower price.

Lot of delicious food for non vegetarians...but for vegetarian like me it's just a place to visit..

Well, with few current Chinese... a bit down at the heels. A pleasant walkthrough at best. Food reviews make it clear that it's Japanese Chinese food on offer.

Going during Chinese New year was Amazing . The locals were nice and welcoming . The food was great and the performances were outstanding. Definitely a must see if you are in Nagasaki during new year's . Out side of it though . There still is great food and atmosphere

Quiet compared to other countries' Chinatown.

It definitely has a very Chinese feel as does all the food we ate there.

A fantastic place for food and a beautiful place to visit during lunar new year.

Yet another place Japan has to offer that is rich in heritage and history. Understand, all the history is not positive. However, the Japanese have not hid it and it is available to view. This Chinatown is conveniently close to Nagasaki's "Ginza" which makes it easy to transition into the downtown area. Worth stopping for if you are in the area!

It's basically a cluster of Chinese restaurants. Slim pickings as far as street food goes. The one in Kobe is better

Quite small for a Chinatown. It is the second largest in Japan so I was surprised. Mostly restaurants and gift shops. The historical Chinese Quarter is right up the road but there wasn't a museum or anything to explain. Very close to the subway.
San San Wong
Lots of restaurants along the street. Should read more before visiting then I should expreciate it more.

Many restaurants to taste authentic Nagasaki food with heavy Chinese influence. Good for shopping too, beware of overpriced touristy souvenir shops though!

What we saw was only restaurants

A small but cozy Chinatown. We came here to eat local noodles, and were positively surprised. You may want to compare the prices between the restaurants before choosing which one to eat at. Fortunately most of the restaurants have some samples of their menu on display which makes the comparison easier even if you cannot read much Japanese

If you like beef, this is the best place.

Noisy and crowded place, too commercialised.

Amazing food in very historic area. Interesting mix of cultures

With so many restaurants to choose from we opted to follow the crowds and it worked out fine. Having been in Japan for a week it was nice to change the menu for just one night. Chinatown in Nagasaki is a compact area so you don't need to walk too far. Also, it is not as crowded as say Chinatown in London or Bangkok.
Stanley Ng
Was a little disappointed; the Chinatown area was quite small & limited. Nonetheless, you will still find F&B and some souvenir.

Doesn't feel like Chinese

Came here at a wrong timing. Most of the shops in this area opens at 5pm onwards so not much things to see and buy.Tried a chinese pork bun. Texture was above average and taste was alright too.

Very very small. Many Chinese restaurants and all the food is very good.
